'NHL 16' update: Be a GM feature in game, trailer released

Those who are waiting for the "NHL 16" game gets another update specifically about the "Be a GM" mode. A new trailer for the "Be a GM" mode in NHL 16 has been released and it shows all kinds of feature touting.

The mode will not only let the players experience draft day and managing their AHL affiliate team but it will also let them handle individual players on their NHL roster throughout the season. This includes bringing up the player's morale. Techno Buffalo noted that the trailer is composed of trades, contract negotiation, morale increases and decreases and a whole lot more. The Phil Kessel trade can also be experienced in the game. The developer, EA Sports, made a recreated version of it since it had become a trend in the hockey world this summer. The trailer also showed some of the things that can be seen in the dropdown menus as well as the trade of Kapanen which will be offered in the game.

The video also mentioned that "Be a GM" in NHL 16 is about "more than just getting the best players, it's about getting the right players to play well together." The mode will let players deal with trade demands, teammate relationships and much more by calling team meetings or adjusting the player's roster to directly affect their team's on-ice performance.

EA Sports also introduces "Team Meetings" into the mode. This will let the user interact with the team based on almost 30 various key events that can happen to a team in a season. These events include being on a winning streak, playing a rival, or facing elimination in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

There are also "Player Meetings" that the user can have with players. There are over 20 different specific conversations that the user can engage with and some of those topics include recent team performance, failing to renew the contract of a teammate and about becoming Team Captain.

NHL 16 will go on sale for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 15.
