Nicki Minaj Drops $6,000 on Nando's Chicken

Nicki Minaj raised eyebrows in Manchester, North West England recently after spending approximately $6,000 on takeaway chicken.

The Trinidadian rapper made a stop through Nandos, a Portuguese themed eatery, after her gig in Manchester on Thursday and ordered food for her entire entourage. One insider described the order as being enough to fill up "a whole car," according to the Daily Star UK newspaper.

"The order included 550 chicken legs, 300 chicken wings and 60 bottles of coke," a source told the Star.

A spokeswoman for Nando's restaurant confirmed that various celebrities including Minaj are fans of the tasty cuisine.

"A lot of the US artists are fans of Nando's, like Rihanna," the spokeswoman told Daily Mail.

The "Starships" singer is renowned for having extreme food demands whenever she is on tour, which is often to accommodate her entourage.

During a recent show appearance in Australia, Minaj requested Belgian waffles and fried chicken, 12 cans of Red Bull- six at room temperature, six on ice- whipped cream, strawberries and 24 bottles of Snapple fruit drink.

For breakfast she has been known to order scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, toast, Belgian waffles, strawberries, assorted juices and a large fruit platter.

Minaj's lunchtime menu often includes buckets of spicy fried chicken- no thighs, lot of wings- a large cheese platter, a deli tray filled with cold meats and a set of silverware.

The 29-year-old is constantly applauded by fans for having a unique and often outrageous fashion style, which critics often compare to that of Lady Gaga.

"First of all, I'm a rapper. I'm from south Jamaica, Queens. What are the similarities?... Wigs? Every female in this game wears wigs. Over the top costumes? Eh, try again. It's getting tired now, though, to me," Minaj told ABC's "Nightline" when asked about the comparisons to Gaga.
