Nicki Minaj New Music Release Date, Rumors: New Album 'Feels Like a Celebration,' Singer Says

Nicki Minaj dropped a few hints about her highly-anticipated studio album, which will be her fourth.

"Sonically, I know what the album's about to sound like. I know what this album is gonna mean to my fans," she told T Magazine. "This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy. It feels almost like a celebration."

"The Pinkprint" was more of a diary, she said, in which she wrote about the uncertainties about her life. Minaj admitted to having closed chapters in her life, which left her feeling unsure about the decisions she made. At that time, she did not know whether she was happy or sad about new beginnings.

But with the fourth album, she explained, she can detail what she has been through in the past two years of her life. Minaj said that she now knows who she is. And she loves her.

Perhaps it is her acknowledging of her past struggles that have made her evolve into such a better artist.

"I had so much going against me in the beginning: being black, being a woman, being a female rapper."

Minaj has proven time and time again that a female rapper is as good as or even better than the men in the field.

In her latest album alone, "The Pinkprint," she spawned worldwide hits like "Anaconda" and "Feeling Myself." The singer is confident that one of the tracks on her new record will be iconic.

In the same interview, she talked about the people who have influenced her in terms of music. She said that she keeps three people in mind whenever she is writing, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Foxy Brown.

As of now, the singer has yet to drop a release date for her new album.
