Nicki Minaj Slams Cardi B In Cryptic Message?
Nicki Minaj allegedly threw some shade at another female rapper Cardi B in the cryptic message she shared on Twitter.
"Putting ppl in the same sentence as me after my 10 years of consistent winning. What are you teaching THEM? They'd never do this to a man," she tweeted.
What the "Anaconda" singer truly meant remains unclear, but some are speculating it was about Cardi B for pitting female rappers against each other. Though it could have been a call for unity among the women in the rapping scene, some are convinced Minaj meant that she is declaring she is better than others, and therefore do not belong on the same level as them.
Rumors of a feud between Minaj and Cardi B are still circulating despite their denial of such claims. It was back in March when rumors started popping up, accusing Minaj of being threatened by Cardi B.
Cardi B made history with "Bodak Yellow." She is only the second female solo rapper to hit No. 1 on the Billboard's top 100 in its 59-year history. Lauryn Hill was the first. Her song "Doo Wop (That Thing)" topped charts in 1998.
It is to be noted that Minaj congratulated Cardi B for her hit single.
Minaj has always been open about her struggles in the music industry, especially as a female rapper. Attacking a colleague who has been through the same challenges would be a bit surprising so we can only assume that cryptic message is addressed to other people in the industry, who might have tried to undermine her, whose shed blood, sweat, and tears to get where she is.
"I got to prove myself a hundred times, whereas the guys that came in around the same time as I did, they were given the titles so much quicker without anybody second-guessing," she once said.
