New Colorway Promises Sneaker Fans a Sleek and Simple Design
Coming out in stores on June 8 (Wednesday), the Nike Air Max 1 Premium 87 promises a classic sneakers that Nike fans have long been waiting for.
This new Air Max 1 edition boasts the number "87" on its heel to pay tribute to the year when the Nike Air Max 1 was released, Sneaker Bar Detroit noted. The shoes was also reportedly inspired by the concept of the Nike Air Flight '89 which had the number "89" on its heels.
Fans should expect an all-white ensemble for the Nike Air Max 1 Premium 87. It will have beige and grey accents while the Nike swoosh and the number "87" will be in black.
Sneaker Bar Detroit added that it will be sold for a retail price of $120 and will be available in various Nike retail stores. It will be released in just one colorway dubbed the "White/Black-Phantom-Light Iron Ore."
This new colorway, as per Nikeblog, shows a simple yet sleek combination of colors and design with attractive accents that will surely capture the attention of Nike fans. Buyers will also be constantly reminded of the year where the Air Max was born because of the large "87" on the shoe.
Sneakers Baas explained that the year 1987 was a memorable year for the sports brand as it launched the shoe design that became one of the favorites among Nike and sneakers fans until today. Its birth year also coincided with other historical events like Aretha Franklin being inducted to the Rock n Roll hall of fame.
It was also noted that the Nike Air Max 1 made possible the introduction of a handful of colorways for this shoe model. There were also collaborations for the shoes with well-known athletes in the past.
Air Max lovers have American shoe designer Tinker Hatfield to thank for the Nike Air Max 1 in 1987, Hypebae added. Now that a premium shoe that looks back at the year 1987 is here, fans will always remember the breakthrough year of Nike.
