Nikon D5, D500 100th Anniversary Edition Cameras Highlight Company's History

Nikon has announced special edition cameras and lenses to commemorate its 100th anniversary. These products highlight the Japanese camera maker's contribution to the field of photography with forward-thinking ideas and advanced technologies since its establishment in 1917.

The lineup includes commemorative models of Nikon's flagship digital SLR cameras — the D5 and D500.

The D5 100th Anniversary Edition features a dark metallic gray finish and an exclusive centennial design. Since the introduction of the Nikon F in 1959, the company's flagship SLR models have been the go-to choice for professionals in various fields. A special stamp on the bottom of the camera highlights the brand's contribution to study and exploration of space. The special edition D5 also comes with an anniversary booklet detailing the aforementioned contributions.

Meanwhile, the D500 100th Anniversary Edition is Nikon's flagship DX format SLR camera. It showcases all of Nikon's advanced technologies, which, in turn, have allowed professionals and amateurs alike to express their creative spirit. The special edition camera comes with a metallic gray finish and a special set of commemorative accessories.

Both models feature the 100th anniversary logo on the pentaprism portion, as well as a body cap and leather strap with the commemorative logo. They also come with an exclusive metal case with a plate that has the 100th anniversary logo and a serial number.

The 100th Anniversary Edition lineup also includes the NIKKOR 70-200E lens, the NIKKOR Triple F2.8 zoom lens set and three binoculars. Available commemorative accessories include a Swarovski crystal Nikon Model I, a miniature Nikon F camera and a pin collection representing Nikon's most iconic products .

Nikon's commemorative products will be released on the company's 100th Anniversary, which is on July 25. They will be available in limited quantities but pricing has yet to be announced. More information will be released on Nikon's official 100th Anniversary website.
