Nina Dobrev and Kellan Lutz Mock Boyfriend Rumors in Teen Choice Award Skit

Earlier in the week, "The Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev took to Instagram to poke fun at the rumors that suggested that she was dating almost every man she was seen with in public.

At the Teen Choice 2014 Awards, Dobrev was able to get co-presenter Kellan Lutz in on the fun as he appeared to be very hesitant to stand near her as they presented the Choice Movie Actress: Action/Adventure award to Shailene Woodley.

In the hilarious skit, Lutz acted as if he was not comfortable standing next to her at the microphone, and when Dobrev asked Lutz about it, he said it's because he doesn't want people to think that he's her boyfriend.

According to the "Twilight" actor, there are five men rumored to be Dobrev's boyfriend at this point in time. Apparently even as an "Expendables 3" star, he can't take that many rumored beaus at once.

"Those are tabloids," Dobrev argued, but Lutz insisted that there be a "five-foot radius rule" between the two of them to avoid new rumors sparking just because they presented an award together.

The skit was all in good fun, as Lutz even tweeted after the show, "5 feet radius rule Nina! Haha."

Viewers of the Teen Choice Awards claimed that the skit with Lutz was a hit, and perhaps Dobrev was able to avoid what might have been a truly awkward encounter at the awards show.

It was reported that her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder arrived at the event with his new girlfriend, "Twilight" star Nikki Reed. Dobrev has allegedly been upset with her ex after he started dating Reed, who is her long-time friend.

Reed was also spotted at the show, but the new couple decided not to take pictures together on the red carpet.
