The Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev News: Actress Wants New Challenge in 'True Detective'?
Since Nina Dobrev, 27, exited the show "The Vampire Diaries" at the end of the sixth season, things have been a lot different for her. For starters, her relationship with Austin Stowell is attracting the paparazzi, who have not hesitated snapping photos of the pair while they were on vacation in France.
But after spending some quality time on the French Riviera with her new boyfriend, Nina decided to take a break from Stowell and logged in quality time with her friends, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry. She shared a photo of herself in Instagram cozying up with two blonde buddies and her cat with the caption "Sunday Snuggles with the girls."
This might be just what Dobrev needs especially after departing from TVD. She was reported to be partying hard since her long stint on the show ended.

In other news, Dobrev has been eyeing a spot in the crime drama series "True Detective" which just wrapped up season two. According to Hollywood Life, the actress is currently pushing for a role in the show's yet-to-be-announced third season. Nina has been a fan from the start. But sources say that she's not the only one wanting a role so she asked her people to get some details from the right people and to get her into those meetings.
And as for her old supernatural TV series, the people behind it have released a statement that the young actress is more than welcome to come back to the show.
"We would have loved Nina to stay," CW president Mike Pedowitz told reporters at a Television Critics Association panel on Tuesday. "She did a great job for the six years she was on the show. She is welcome back any time she wants to come back."
Her character Elena continues to sort of live, which means that Dobrev coming back to the show is definitely possible.
