Nintendo Announces New 'Animal Crossing' Amiibo Figurines
Nintendo has just confirmed it will soon be releasing four new Animal Crossing amiibo figures to follow its "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer."
The second wave of Animal crossing amiibo figurines is expected to be unveiled by November 21, right on the heels of Nintendo's first wave release which includes Isabelle, Lottie, Digby, Reese, Mabel, Cyrus, and Tom Nook.
The new animal amiibo will be compatible with the Japanese gaming giant's Wii U "Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival," with the second wave four animal figurines, which include Celeste, Blathers, Resetti and Kicks.
With the new animal amiibo, Nintendo will also launch "Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer" amiibo cards for its 3DS. The game will introduce players to hundreds of Animal Crossing inhabitants, each one with a different personality and requirements for their various homes.
In total, there will be a total of 12 "Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival" figurines, with Nintendo's page including a bundle that packs Isabelle and Digby, and is expected to cost ¥6,400 ($53), apart from the individual packages for each amiibo animal figure.
Scheduled to launch in Japan by December 17, Nintendo has yet to announce whether they will be having a North American release for the first and second wave of Animal Crossing figurines for a US or Canada amiibo Festival, but news is expected to be released within the month.
In the meantime, Nintendo of America will be bringing back six of its past figurines from its "Super Smash Bros" for Wii U and 3DS. The amiibo, which include Captain Falcon, Lucario, Fox, Shulk, Little Mac, and Geninja, are scheduled to be restocked at selected retailers in the very near future.
Nintendo is said to be considering re-releasing its other amiibo figures, after it brought back Wii Fit Trainer and Fit amiibo toys in June. With it's recently announced Shovel Knight and Chibi-Robo amiibo figurines on the way, over seven million amiibo have been sold in North America alone.
