Nintendo NX News: Rumored to Launch in 2016, Pack Expected to Come with New Titles

Following the announcement that Nintendo is working on the next-gen console that is expected to be far better than its predecessors, fans are already raising speculations about the "mystery" console.

Several outlets have delivered various speculations about the upcoming console code-named "Nintendo NX," but one of the most striking insights about the NX comes from Expert Reviews. According to the report, a prominent Japanese newspaper, Nikkei, has said in June that Nintento will break free from the traditional in-house operating system that everyone knows of.

While Nintendo has reportedly slammed the report, the news was still a breath of fresh air for the many fans who are requesting that the company start using Android for its consoles. It should also be noted that the Japanese gaming company said earlier that the NX will be packed with a feature that will support "multi-platform game titles." If Nintendo sticks with its initial idea of how the NX should be, shifting to an Android OS should be the easiest way.

Other outlets such as Yibada speculate that the NX will improve greatly in terms of its 3D and Wii U specs. The outlet suggests that the device may be a "more powerful" handheld, to somehow deviate from the norms of Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One.

There are no specifics on the release date of the mystery console just yet, but multiple outlets suggest that it may be launched sometime in 2016. However, some gaming experts also say Nintendo won't be rushing the development of a new highly technological console so it could be impossible for a device still in the concept stage to come out next year.

Another rumor that seems to excite fans is that the upcoming console will release new titles, aside from its standard "Mario" games. Some outlets suggest that for it to be a hit among gamers, it should include "Legend of Zelda," "Star Wars Rogue Squadron," "Pokémon," "Mass Effect: Andromeda," and "Pikimin."
