'Nioh' News, Updates: Game Receives Generally Positive Reviews From Critics

It has been over a month since Koei Tecmo Games' action role-playing game (RPG) "Nioh" hit the stores, and yet players continue to rave about its crisp gameplay and visually appealing environment. Of course, it isn't official until critics have laid down their judgment, and the title has passed with flying colors.

Shack News commends the game, first and foremost, for its deliberate and measurable combat. It is not a mere hack-and-slash title that abuses one button on the controller, rather the understanding of the timing and reach of each weapon is crucial. Furthermore, even when one favors a certain weapon, there are still three stances to master, creating depth and even longer hours of replay value.

Another positive point for the game is the intricacy of the game's story, Niche Gamer reports. The exquisite combination of Japanese lore mixed with political conflicts and hidden agenda makes the plot deep and inviting, bringing players to reflect fondly on the whole experience and creating a special place within one's memory. With the story vividly emblazoned in rich graphics, it is both captivating and mesmerizing.

Kotaku, on the other hand, agrees to both reviews and adds more detail. The combat style is flowing and fast-paced, as what an action game should be and stand for. The story truly is a work of art, though at times it seems disjointed and starts slowly. Ultimately, the common comparison with "Dark Souls" is baseless, saying that "Nioh" actually manages to surpass it.

"Nioh" has been generally a successful game and has received positive reception everywhere. Its worldwide sales volume has surpassed a million in less than a month, causing the team to release a special Golden Nioh Armor in commemoration of the joint success with the players, Gamer has learned.

Given the feedback on the game, "Nioh" is arguably going to be one of the most memorable games of 2017 and is set to be a legend.
