'No Man's Sky' News: How Starships Have Changed With the Release of the 'Path Finder' Update
New starship specializations and classes introduced in latest 'No Man's Sky' update
The feature-filled "Path Finder" update released just recently for "No Man's Sky" changes the game in many ways, and starships are among those that have been significantly affected.
Developers listed the numerous ways in which starships have changed in a lengthy post on the game's official website.
To start, players will find that there are now new starship specializations and classes included in the game.
There are four different specializations now featured.
For those who want a starship that is better-suited for moving around the game's vast universe, they may want to look for Explorer ships that are outfitted with better warping capabilities.
If players want to use their starships to take down any hostile forces that may be going after them as they move from one planet to another, then they may find that a Fighter-type ship will work better for them.
Next up, players who will need to move tons of materials around will want to get a Hauler as this particular ship type features larger cargo holds.
The last of the new ship specializations now featured inside "No Man's Sky" is the Shuttle, and this is the all-purpose ship that will be good to have on hand for any scenario.
Ships will be grouped into four classes now too, with A, B, C and S-rated ones now available for players to find and potentially purchase.
Speaking of purchasing ships, players should find that this is easier to do inside the game as the "Path Finder" update also introduces a mechanic that enables players to trade in the one they currently own in order to gain a discount for the one they are looking to buy.
It should likewise be easier to land ships with the update installed and it is also possible now for players to rename them.
More details about any other "No Man's Sky" additions should be made available soon.
