No More Marvel Vs Capcom Origins for Xbox 360 and PS3
Combofiend announced that Capcom is no longer supporting the Marvel vs Capcom Origins on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
This moved was preceded by the removal of "Iron Galaxy's Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike: Online Edition."
Capcom did not reveal the reason for removing the titles, but according to eventhubs, it's becoming "a trend." They also removed other titles like "Deadpool" six months after it was launched.
The last day when the game can be available for download was on Dec. 31 last year.
Meanwhile, gamers are speculating about the reason why Capcom decided to remove this game.
One commenter in Kotaku said that "it could be a license thing."
@gwenclone elaborated on the possibility of Capcom's financial issues as the main reason why they are pulling out Marvel vs. Capcom on consoles.
"Capcom are known to currently be in financial strife, so although imo UMvC3 is the(ir) BEST game of the last gen systems(yes BEST... I have a lot of friends that still regularly play this instead of Last of Us/GTAV)," wrote gwenclone.
The user added that the game, on different platforms, have a couple of bugs that were not really fixed discouraging lasting players' interest on the game.
Gwenclone said that in the PS3 version, "there is some input lag which can affect things if you are an experienced player. Most people couldn't tell or might not care.."
It is also the same with the Xbox 360 version, according to the user.
"A bit of a disappointing port in that the timing is quite screwed up(more so that Dreamcast)... I actually played this with friends last night. It's still worth getting though if you're new, especially if you have an arcade stick. You can also play online with XBL," the user said.
So far, Capcom's latest update was about the new characters in Monster Hunger Ultimate 4. Nothing about the continuity of Marvel vs. Capcom has been released yet.
