Nokia 3310 Release Date, Price, Latest News: Rebooted Model to be Released in May?
The reboot of the iconic Nokia 3310 was one of the most popular announcements made at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. However, interested buyers of the device will have to wait for around a couple of months before they can get their hands on a unit of their own.
According to a report by GSMArena, online U.K. retailer Clove revealed that the Nokia 3310 is expected to come out in May, along with the Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3. This means consumers will have to wait at least a month and a half before they could purchase one.
However, other retailers have yet to confirm the device's release date. Moreover, Clove's website also noted that the official price of the Nokia 3310, as well as its availability, will still be confirmed, which means the given release date could still shift.
The Nokia 3310 has an estimated retail price of €49 (around $40). However, local prices will still vary depending on duties, taxes as well as currency exchange rates.
Tagged as "retro tech," the rebooted Nokia 3310 is a device that gives a feeling of nostalgia to those who once owned the original Nokia 3310 in the early 2000s. Many customers also pre-ordered the device because of its long battery life, lasting for 22 hours until it requires charging again. It also comes with a new version of Snake, which was the classic game enjoyed by many users of the original 3310 model.
The rebooted Nokia 3310 is available in four color schemes — Warm Red, Yellow, Dark Blue and Grey. It uses a micro-USB port for charging and comes with 16 MB storage and a microSD slot that can support up to 32 GB. The device also serves as an MP3 player with built-in FM radio.
The revamped version of the Nokia 3310 is expected to be released sometime in May. Interested buyers can register their interest in the device, along with the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 6, here.
