Nokia 6 Specs, Release Date and Price Update: Q2 Worldwide Launch Touted; Set To Feature Android Nougat

Along with the comeback of its iconic 3310 unit, mobile company Nokia also officially launched the Nokia 6 worldwide (it was first launched in China last year).

Aside from the standard Nokia 6 edition, the company also introduced the Nokia 6 Arte variant which comes in a piano black finish and has a price tag of 299 Euros (roughly $316). The standard variant is priced at 229 Euros (roughly $242).

The new Nokia phones were unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2017 event which is held in Barcelona, Spain. The event opened Monday, Feb. 27, and is scheduled to end by Thursday, March 2.

The Nokia 6 is announced to be available on shelves by the second quarter of 2017. It sports a 5.5-inch display with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. The new phone also comes with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The standard version will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity. Meanwhile, the Arte variant boasts a 4GB worth of RAM and 64GB worth of internal storage. Both phones will also support a microSD expandable storage.

In addition, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It also has a dual-sim capacity and is equipped with two cameras - an 8-megapixel front camera and a 16-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus and dual-tone flash. Both cameras come with a f/2.0 aperture.

The phone is also powered with a 3000 mAh non-removable battery and has fast-charging support. And according to a Stuff TV review, the Nokia 6's aluminum-made edges are sharper and feels more rugged compared to the usual curve-edged smartphones.

Meanwhile, the Nokia 6 also has USB 2.0 port connectivity, a fingerprint sensor, and a Dolby Atmos audio enhancement system.

Aside from the Nokia 6, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 will also be available by the second quarter of 2017, possibly around April to March.

The Nokia 3 is priced at 139 Euros (roughly $149) while the Nokia 5 is tagged at 189 Euros (around $200). Both phones are also run by an Android operating system.
