Nokia 9 Specs, Release Date: New Leak Images Reveal Curved Display and More

While HMD Global has been silent following the release of the Nokia 8, the company is working on their next flagship, which is the Nokia 9.

If the latest leak that came out of Baidu featuring the handset is anything to go by, their upcoming offering will sport some amazing curves.

The Nokia 8 was left behind in the design department with the emergence of bezel-less flagships, but it looks like HMD Global is ready to rectify that.

The company could be looking to remove the bezels on the left and right side of the Nokia 9 for an edge-to-edge OLED display that bleed through the sides, giving it a seamless look. The smartphone's back is also curved, adding to the sleek appearance.

The forehead and chin, while chopped off significantly, remain relatively thicker by the standards put up by the all-screen smartphones coming out.

This, per Tech Radar, gives the Nokia 9 the look of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge from last year, which was deemed a good-looking smartphone during its heyday.

It is what's inside, however, that sets the two apart as HMD Global packed its next big Nokia offering a set of impressive heavy-duty features.

A dual camera setup said to be courtesy of Carl Zeiss are arranged vertically on the back of the device as seen in the leaked image with the fingerprint sensor just below it.

The blue color variant of the Nokia 9 is believed to be its best yet. A few weeks ago, the device was shown in copper in another set of leaked images.

As for the specs, the next big Nokia product is expected to house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with whopping 6 to 8 GB random-access memory (RAM).

The build should be better with a purported IP68 certification with other rumored features such as an iris scanner and 128 GB of storage.

The Nokia 9 is expected to arrive this year.
