'Noragami' Series News: Season Three Still In Limbo

After running only 13 episodes, "Noragami" ended its second season last December and this has left the fans wanting for more. Without any news about its supposed next season, fans and critics of the show alike are left speculating whether the show will return to the small screen, and if it does, the question is "When?"

As the show aired it season finale episode last December, no words about its succeeding season has been revealed. When Will has reported in its article in November last year that Bones Studio had no decision yet as to whether it will renew the show for another season or kill it totally.

However, hope is not lost at all for the fans of the show. After all, according to International Business Times, Bones Studio also did not make an announcement for the premiere of the second season of the show after its season one final episode.

Youth Health online magazine opined that there are many factors that can spell the cancellation of a show or its season renewal. For one thing, the popularity of the show is one of the major considerations. In the case of an anime, apart from the ratings, it is also determined by the sales of its copies on Blue-Ray or DVD.

The availability of resource material can also influence whether the show will get a shot at another season. It is highly important for a show to have enough materials on standby so that the production won't have to wait for the latest stories in the manga as the basis for the script. Under this presumption, fans of "Noragami" have a reason to rejoice as its manga version has been around and running since 2010. This means that the writers of the show have enough reference for the episodes of the anime series.

A cliffhanger episode of the season finale likewise hints if a show will still have another season. On the last episode of season two, Fujisaki was revealed as "The Father" who caused Ebisu's misfortunes and Hiyori's condition. Hence, it is very likely for Yato and Fujikasi to deal with these revelations in another episode, in the event that the show, indeed, gets a third season.

With "Noragami" qualifying in all the factors for a season renewal, it seems that the odds are really in the favor of the show getting a third season.

For the meantime, fans are left in limbo on the fate of the anime series.
