Oakland Raiders vs Washington Redskins Live Stream (NBC): Watch NFL Sunday Night Football 2017 Online
NFL Sunday Night Football for Week 3 of the NFL 2017 regular season will feature a big game between the Oakland Raiders and the Washington Redskins. The game takes place from FedEx Field and has a scheduled start time of 8.30 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on TV on the NBC network, or online through live stream (details below).
The Raiders go on the road for Week 3 hoping to claim a third straight win to get their season off to a 3-0 start. However, they face a seemingly revitalized Washington Redskins team that had a tough opening game of the season, but which bounced back in a big way last week to move to 1-1 and give renewed hope for their season.
Washington were swept aside in their opening game of the season. That 30-17 defeat immediately sparked serious concerns about how their season would pan out, however, the Redskins showed character last week to bounce back and claim an impressive road win 27-20 over the Los Angeles Rams.
That means things could go either way from here. They face a stern test today against an undefeated Oakland Raiders team that has looked impressive through the opening weeks of the season.
In Week 2, the Raiders inflicted a powerful loss on the New York Jets. In particular, the way in which the Raiders' offense were able to overwhelm the Jets' defense so consistently should make the Redskins stand up and take notice for today's game.
That win last week for Oakland helped build upon their opening game 26-16 victory on the road to the Tennessee Titans. Two wins from two is as good as anyone can hope for to start the season, and no doubt the Raiders will be intent on making sure their excellent start does not end abruptly here today at FedEx Field.
Earlier this week, Thursday's game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers turned out to be the highest scoring game in the history of NFL Thursday Night Football games, with the Rams claiming a 41-39 victory to move to 2-1. The 49ers meanwhile suffered a third straight loss to drop to 0-3, and their season is immediately on the brink.
The highest scoring game for Thursday Night Football prior to the Rams vs 49ers battle was the 2014 meeting between the Chargers and the 49ers. Again in that game the 49ers came out on the losing side, suffering a 38-35 defeat.
Many may have expected the Rams to come out firing on all cylinders, as they had already proven that they have the players to participate in a high-scoring shootout. In Week 1 they scored 46 points. However, the way the 49ers responded and fought all the way was wholly unexpected for most people, but it helped to provide one of the most entertaining games you're likely to see all season.
In the fourth quarter with under nine minutes remaining in the game, the 49ers were 41-26 behind and looked dead and buried. However, then Brian Hoyer led the team to two straight scoring drives.
Hoyer first threw a 3 year touchdown pass to Trent Taylor to make the scores 41-33, but even then most thought the touchdown was more a consolation prize rather than the start if an amazing fight back from the 49ers.
But from the restart, Rams' returner Pharoh Cooper fumbled to hand the ball straight back to the 49ers. Sn inspired San Francisco team then pushed forward for eight plays before a one yard run by Carlos Hyde got them into the end zone to pull the score to 41-39.
The 49errs went for the two point conversation to bring things level, but were unable to pull it off, leaving them two points behind and facing defeat.
But the breathless finale to the game was not over yet. From the restart the 49ers recovered the onside kick and it looked like they might pull off one of the most amazing comebacks. But soon after, Hoyer was sacked by Aaron Donald on a fourth-and 20 play, and the game was over.
However, the ending of the game revealed some fight that many thought the 49ers were lacking, and that could give them hope that it will not be all doom and gloom this season in the end.
