'Ocean's Eight' Release Date, News: There's a Price to Pay for Shooting at the Met
Creating an ensemble movie can prove to be a costly venture, especially when one brings an illustrious cast together. "Ocean's Eight" is one current example of such argument, although it appears it's not just the stars that are going to cost production a lot of money.
According to Page Six, recreating the Met Gala over at the Metropolitan Museum cost a $1-million donation. Put that on top of the fees for getting its main characters and cameos from personalities such as Anna Wintour, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen and a lot more in the parade of stars, one can imagine how costly this film is going to be.
Given that the stakes are high, the pressure is definitely on for the film to perform well. But now that fans know who's going to be in the movie, perhaps that could be a big boost as each would bring a massive audience behind them.
As a matter of fact, production is already in full swing. Daily Mail has snapped photos of James Corden shooting in New York, and he appears to be loving every single second of it. He is rumored to play a role of an insurance investigator, although it isn't sure how he would fit in the plot of the film as the story still remains under wraps.
It can also be recalled that Rihanna has shared a fierce picture of her and the other girls, proving that ladies can be as intimidating, or even more, than guys while trying to pull a heist and still look stylish at that. It immediately caught the attention of the fans, although a trailer probably won't be coming anytime soon as its release date is still more than a year away.
"Ocean's Eight" revolves around Danny Ocean's sister, Debbie (Sandra Bullock), who tries to pull a heist during the annual Met Gala. She recruits a team that consists of Lou (Cate Blanchett), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), Nine Ball (Rihanna), Tammy (Sarah Paulson), Amita (Mindy Kaling) and Constance (Awkwafina).
"Ocean's Eight" arrives in theaters on June 8, 2018.
