Odell Beckham Jr. Injury News: Receiver and Other Teammates Undergo Surgery
The New York Giants team has gotten quite unlucky this National Football League season as several of their receivers, including Odell Beckham Jr., needed to leave the field because of their injuries, with some of them requiring surgery.
Apart from Beckham, Giants receivers Dwayne Harris and Brandon Marshall were also set to undergo surgery. Meanwhile, Sterling Shepard is currently suffering from a sprained ankle as well but will not need any drastic medical procedure.
Beckham had his surgery on Monday night, while Harris and Marshall had theirs on Tuesday. Beckham, Marshall, and Shepard are all suffering from an ankle injury while Harris has a broken foot.
Despite the spiraling situation that the Giants are experiencing, Beckham remained positive and addressed fans with a recent post on his official Instagram page that said: "Thank u all for your prayers. You better believe I'll be back better than ever. God Speed."
Meanwhile, as of the moment, the recovery period of the receivers who underwent surgery is still unknown.
Addressing the media and discussing the situation the team is in, New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo said "it's a part of the game" and they need to deal with it by moving forward onto the season.
McAdoo added: "We have a bunch of guys who were nicked up in the ballgame at the receiver spot and we have some guys on the practice squad, some guys on the roster that we bump them up, give them opportunities. Next man up."
Giants' QB Eli Manning shared the same spirit of focusing on their upcoming games and said: "We have to move on." The athlete reiterated that they now need "to make adjustments" and the remaining players "have to step up."
Manning expressed confidence that his remaining teammates will step up and will soon catch up to the routes of the game. He added: "Brought back some guys who have been around ... who have made some plays for us in the past. So they'll be ready. They'll know the system. They'll know what they're doing. Thrown the routes with them before."
