Between the two teams, the Thunder are having a better year as expected as they are atop the Northwest Division with a 22-10 record. They have a comfortable lead over their division rivals as the Utah Jazz are 8.0 games behind the current leaders. The Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwovles and Denver Nuggets place third to fifth, respectively.

On the other hand, the Suns are in a tough division in the Pacific and they find themselves fourth behind strong teams like the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings. The Suns have a 12-22 record at the moment and are only above the rebuilding Los Angeles Lakers who have yet to break double digits in the win column.

In their first meeting at Oklahoma City, the match was tight after the first quarter as they were tied after the first 12 minutes.

However, the Thunder found some breathing space in the second as they outscored the Suns by six points to take the lead by halftime.

They maintained the pressure in the third and fourth quarter as they eventually blew the game wide open to win 124-103.

In the victory, the Thunder were led by Kevin Durant who had 32 points and 11 rebounds while dishing out four assists. On the other hand, Eric Bledsoe had 28 points and 11 assists for the Suns.
