In an interview by Pop Sugar at Comic-con, Parrilla was asked whether there's going to be a role reversal between her and Emma.
"The hero has been evolving within Regina," she answered. "We will see a role reversal of some sort, and I think that everyone is going to look to Regina for guidance and help … I think she is going to have a huge impact in bringing Emma back into the light."
The show creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz said that Emma may be in the dark side for most of the coming season, suggesting that bringing Emma back into the light will be the central there of the series.
