In the pilot episode, it began with a flashback of a young Emma when she visited a movie theater and she stole a candy bar. She was watching "The Sword in the Stone" and an elderly usher gave her a warning about doing bad things.

In the present time, Emma discovered that she can communicate with Rumple in the same way that Avatars can speak to their past selves. Rumple encouraged Emma to embrace her powers and not fight it.

Emma was not alone on this journey since her family had followed her into the enchanted forest. The rest of the gang arrived just in time to stop Emma from killing Merida, in order to find Merlin.

In the future, the other characters have turned into true Arthurians and Emma had fully embraced the dark side. Only Emma remembered everything and the fans wonder what had pushed Emma over the edge.

"Once Upon a Time" airs every Sunday.
