'Once Upon a Time' season 5: Meet the new 'brave' character this season

"Once Upon a Time" had a truly exciting season 4. With Elsa and Anna being in the first half, and the villain group of Cruella De Vil, Ursula, and Maleficent in the second half, it's a wonder how the next season plans to top all of that. However, it seems that the introduction of a new character just might get the attention of fans even more.

In season 5, viewers will get to see the show's very first Pixar character, Merida. The Scottish "Brave" lead character was shown on the recent key art uploaded by the official Once Upon a Time Twitter account. As to when to expect of her character, according to Comic Book Resources, executive producer Edward Kitsis mentioned this when they appeared in Disney's D23 Expo. He said, "We will meet her in the premiere, and how we meet her I don't want to spoil." Bustle reports that a team up between Belle, played by Emilie de Ravin, and Merida will occur. Executive producer Adam Horowitz talked about how the idea came up, saying, "We've always wondered what would happen if Belle and Merida went on an adventure together... We hope you do, too, because it's coming!"

Merida will be introduced in Camelot, since the story setting will be more likely moved to the Enchanted Forest, which will make more sense that Camelot will be in the same world. Belle would also have enough opportunities to be in action in this world rather than in Storybrooke. However, there aren't any other news as to why Merida will be in the picture, so viewers will have to wait. Her character will be played by Amy Manson, a Scottish actress, so fans don't have to worry about terrible accents. Before her role in the series, her most memorable role was playing Medea in BBC's British fantasy-adventure TV series "Atlantis."
