'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 News, Cast, Spoilers: Greg Germann's 'Devilish' Role
"Once Upon a Time" is definitely getting more exciting by the day. Many fans claim that the current season may be the best one yet as the twists are quite unlike those in the past seasons. The great story line of Emma Swan, also the Dark One, as well as the usual villains like Regine taking on full-fledged hero roles, have only been spiced up more with the appearance of one beloved character, Merida from the "Brave," and the further exploration of Camelot.
However, news about the show's 100th episode is making the most rounds as of the moment. When the special episode airs, it will be the 12th episode of the season and will kick off season 5B. Not only has it been confirmed that big villains from the past, like Peter Pan and Cora, will be making an appearance, but it seems that a new one will show up. According to TVLine, the episode entitled "The Distinguished Gentleman" marks the appearance of a character described to be "a mysterious figure with god-like powers who is always clad in a perfectly tailored suit" and will apparently be able to "strike fear into people just by being friendly." It is also said that he will be "the last person you ever want to share a drink with." Now, the man to portray this heavy role has been cast and it's none other than Greg Germann. Germann has been on TV for a while, his most prominent role was in the popular series Ally McBeal.
Although the name of the character hasn't been confirmed, show co-creator Eddy Kitsis previously mentioned that season 5B is going to be "hell." Although OUAT may not be ready to tackle the religious aspect of hell, a speculation is that it's ready for the Greek mythology counterpart, which will introduce Hades. Germann's new role perfectly fits the description of the God of the Underworld. It would definitely make an interesting turn of events if the Storybrooke heroes end up facing Hades himself.
Germann's appearance in the 100th episode is expected to air sometime in March as episode 7 airs this Sunday on ABC.
