'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 News, Cast, Spoilers: Merida, Rumplestiltskin, and a Bear Are in Spotlight Next Episode

"Once Upon a Time" is definitely turning things around this season. A lot of role reversals have been occuring in the episodes, and though viewers have seen some characters act somewhat different from their personality in the past seasons, the most shocking ones are yet to come as the show pushes further in its fifth year.

In next week's episode, CarterMatt reports that one character least likely expected to be a hero might finally have a change of heart. Merida, who has been tasked by Emma (Jennifer Morrison) to turn Rumplestiltskin into a hero, may have a lot in her hands. Viewers are already well aware that Merida is a strong woman, much like Belle who also has her hands full in dealing with husband Rumple. So if there was anyone else who has the will to turn him into a hero, it will likely be someone like Merida.

Fans of the show already had a preview of Rumple as a hero before season 4 ended, but that was only temporary and it seems that Emma is expecting for a more permanent turn of events at this point. The previous episode was entitled "The Bear and the Bow," which is in reference to the original title of the Pixar movie Merida is known for, and was later on changed to "Brave."

Despite the title of the episode pointing to Merida, according to the spoilers, Rumple will be the one facing a big bear. The bear will apparently not only be a physical hurdle on their path but will mean more if Rumple wants to move forward with his life. As of now, it's said that Rumple is already in serious danger, and it is assumed that Belle is the main target, with Rumple just being collateral damage, if ever. Defeating this bear will secure Belle's safety, which is Rumple's utmost concern and what has always pushed him to do selfless things.

Fans will have to wait and see how things will turn out as season 5 of "Once Upon a Time" airs on Sunday on ABC.
