'Once Upon a Time' Season 6 Spoilers: Four Cast Members in Negotiation for Season 7 Return

There are reports that "Once Upon a Time" season 6 will mark the end of the story of the characters that fans knew and loved for six years. However, this might not be the case after all.

According to TVLine, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O'Donoghue are in talks to extend their contracts for another season.

Morrison, Parrilla and Carlyle have been in "Once Upon a Time" since the beginning as Emma, Regina and Rumple, respectively while O'Donoghue joined the cast as Captain Hook early in the second season.

At the moment, nothing is set in stone yet, but the fact that there are negotiations happening suggests that "Once Upon a Time" season 6 won't be the last time fans will see these characters.

It is unclear, however, what the rest of the cast's fate will be. Just like the above four, the contracts of Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin and Jared Gilmore are also about to expire, but there appear to be no talks about them reprising their role in the series for the next season.

As part of executive producer Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz's plan to hit the reset button in season 7, the "Once Upon a Time" season 6 finale will introduce two new characters believed to be series regulars in the new season.

"The Walking Dead" alum Andrew J. West was cast to play the role of a "strong yet vulnerable" leading man who was once optimistic and full of hope, but is now a friendless and cynical recluse. There are reports that the character he will play will be a grown-up who is a kid.

Alison Fernandez of "Jane the Virgin" will also join West in the "Once Upon a Time" season 6 finale as a gifted 10-year-old with a "constant twinkle of mischief in her eye."

She comes from a broken home but this did not stop her from moving forward and has, in fact, helped her become stronger and courageous when darkness threatens everything she loves.

For now, fans would want to focus on the new episodes for "Once Upon a Time" season 6 as they could be the last for some characters.

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns tomorrow, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET with a new episode titled "Murder Most Foul."
