'Once Upon a Time' Season 7 Spoilers: Henry's New Cinderella is a Feisty Realist

Cinderella (Dania Ramirez) is not going to be the stereotypical damsel in distress in the upcoming season of "Once Upon a Time" (OUAT).

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ramirez talked about how different her character would be compared to her Disney counterpart. The Cinderella in "OUAT," she said, would not be the type to wait for her prince to come and sweep her off her feet. Instead, the princess is more of a rebel, someone who takes things on her own hand and fight for what she believes is right.

As for Cinderella's relationship with Henry (Andrew J. West), Ramirez said they would fit each other well. The heroine will reportedly have no problem falling in love with Henry and vice versa.

"Cinderella is a little edgy and a little rough around the edges. It's a different dynamic. It's still almost like a bickering dynamic. But there is that magical moment when they do first see each other that you know that there's something really special and beautiful there, and that love really does exist. That's what's going to keep us throughout the season. I think we're about to take a really beautiful journey together. I light a fire within him," Ramirez said.

Meanwhile, fans are looking forward to the return of Zelena (Rebecca Mader) in the new season. It has been teased that Mader would reprise her role as the Wicked Witch of the West although it was previously announced that she has left the ABC series.

Mader said Zelena's one mission is to get back the powers she lost when she fought the Black Fairy (Jaime Murray) in the last installment. Viewers are expecting her to reunite soon with her half-sister, Regina (Lana Parrilla), who will go to Hyperion Heights with Henry and Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) in search for a new adventure.

"Once Upon a Time" season 7 will air on Friday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
