'One Piece: Burning Blood' Update: Bandai Namco Releases Screenshots, New Characters Revealed

Upcoming fighting game "One Piece: Burning Blood" is gathering some attention after Bandai Namco posted some new information and screenshots of the gameplay. According to Design & Trend, the screenshots of the game, which is based on the incredibly popular Japanese anime and manga, revealed the new playable characters that will be added into the game.

Now included in the roster are fan favorites Straw Hat crew first-man Roronoa Zora, former Marine Admiral Kuzan, Franky Shogun and X-Drake. They will be the newest combatants that players can choose to go on a battle. Youth Health also noted that Magazine Weekly Jump confirmed the characters, featuring in their latest issue a dark battlefield with X Drake in a dinosaur form brawling against Franky.

Some of the attacks that players can use have also been revealed in the new screenshots. According to The Otaku's Study, the game lets players build a team consisting of three characters. They can then switch between these characters while they're in battle. There will be specific characters in the game that have access to special Logia Moves for unique abilities such as burning through the enemies or moving very, very fast.

The site Develop also mentioned that the game will feature an advanced battle system that will allow imitation of Devil Fruit abilities and Haki action techniques. These unique abilities will give the player's attack power a massive boost and even abolish incoming ordinary attacks. But players will need to carefully plan out the usage of the available special abilities in order to release their maximum fighting potential.

Aside from the characters, the screenshots also revealed new maps that will be available in the upcoming game. The new maps include Alabasta, Skypea and Drum Drum Island. Confirmed characters include The White Hunter, Luffy, Ace, Sabo, Law, Batholomeo, Doflamingo, Crocodile and Eneru. The game trailer also revealed the inclusion of Portgas D. Ace's and Sabo's Flame-Flame Fruit, Trafalgar Law's Op-Op Fruit, Monkey D. Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit, Donquixote Doflamingo's String-String Fruit and many more.

"One Piece: Burning Blood" will be available in 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita.
