OnePlus 2 Mini Passes Through TENAA, Launch Imminent?
Details of a mysterious new smartphone by OnePlus have once again leaked online. This time, the device is said to have passed through certification by China's certification TENAA, which is similar to the FCC.
According to a report in Tech Times, the TENAA listing featured a smaller version of the OnePlus 2, the company's recent flagship phone. The listing indicated a device with a 4.99-inch screen.
The TENAA listing dated December 30 showed the OnePlus 2 Mini, which sports an AMOLED 4.99-inch screen, which has a Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Listed with model number E1000, the device is smaller than the OnePlus 2 which has a 5.5 inch screen.
This is the not the first time that details of the mysterious device were found online. A GFXBench listing that came out in early December indicated a different screen size for the device, which was pegged at only 4.6 inches, but with the same display resolution as the TENAA listing.
According to TENAA, the OnePlus 2 Mini will be powered under the hood by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor running at 2.0 GHz and paired with 3 GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, the device is rumored to have 16 GB of storage which is expandable to up to 128 GB via a microSD card.
Camera-wise, the device is listed with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The phone will come pre-installed with the latest iteration of OnePlus' OxygenOS. Connectivity options will include 3G, 4G LTE, 2G, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. If earlier leaks are true, the OnePlus 2 Mini will not carry NFC support.
The device will be slim with only 6.9 mm thickness and weighing at only 136 grams. Battery capacity was not indicated in the leak, but the report speculates that the device may have the same 2,525 mAh battery as the 5-inch OnePlus X.
The phone's release date was not indicated, however, it is expected to sell between $250 and $350, according to the report.
