OnePlus 2 Release Date, Price News: Will Features Perform Better Than OnePlus One?

In spite the criticism received by the company, Android enthusiasts and fans are still excited about OnePlus' OnePlus 2, which is the successor of its first ever smartphone that was released last year.

For people who have missed the announcement and would like to check out the device's specs, here are some notable points.

The OnePlus 2 follows its older sibling's footsteps in the display department, it packs a 5.5-inch display with the same Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, resulting in a pixel density of 401ppi. The screen is Gorilla Glass so no worries in case you accidentally drop your phone screen first to the ground.

Other notable specs are Snapdragon 810, which is undeniably among the most powerful chipsets around, an option for 3GB RAM and 16GB built-in memory, or 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage, a 3,300mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box skinned by Oxygen OS.

Some of the more interesting features include dual-SIM and dual-4G LTE standby, Bluetooth 5.1, GLONASS, GPS, a USB Type-C connector, and even a fingerprint scanner.

Based on previous reports, the device will shortly become available in the U.S. But a posting on OnePlus forums mentioned that shipping to the U.S. could be delayed by a few weeks.

Unfortunately, for Android fans who might have been waiting for a price cut for the OnePlus One, the company's CEO himself Carl Pei made it clear that no such price cuts would be made for last year's model.

As for the OnePlus 2, the new flagship is unbelievably cheap at only $329 for the cheapest version. Based on a report by BGR, the device feels very solid in the hand, and its swappable back covers are not flimsy like in other brands.

But while the device boasts some really good specs, and paired it with a great price tag, the OnePlus 2's specs may not live up to its flagship killer name.
