OnePlus 3 Rumored to Carry 6 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820, 16 MP Camera
Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus promises its fans a "flagship killer" dubbed as the OnePlus 3. But even though it has not been unveiled yet, a new round of rumors has surfaced online, giving potential buyers a sneak peek on what may possibly come along with the device once it is out.
According to a report by Gadgets 360, the model has been spotted in a couple of benchmark listings including GeekBench and GFXBench. Listed with the codename OnePlus 'Rain Rain' A3000, the sources claim that the forthcoming handset will be equipped with a whopping 6 GB of RAM. Aside from that, it is said to be running with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) SoC clocked at 1.5GHz.
BGR also reported that the device will feature a 64 GB of internal storage, as well as a 16-megapixel primary camera at the rear and an 8-megapixel secondary camera at the front. The listing also cited that it will be pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and will be topped with Oxygen OS. Moreover, rumors say that it will be sporting a fingerprint scanner, NFC and a metal body.
Several variants are expected though. Tech Advisor detailed that there will be a 3 GB of RAM paired with 32 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage aside from the 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage space. As of the current, none is confirmed by the tech company so it's best to take reports with a pinch of salt.
There's also no announced launch date yet but speculations say that the OnePlus 3 could be launched on either May 18 or May 28. It is then expected to go on sale by June. Co-Founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei, said that the latest flagship from the company is designed to "captivate" users the same way that OnePlus One did. Fans will have to stay tuned to know more about it.
