OnePlus Two Specs, Release Date: New 'Flagship Killer' Will Run on Android 5.1 Based Oxygen OS
OnePlus is a Chinese startup manufacturer that should have been one of the biggest winners of last year. Its pioneer device, the OnePlus One, is a high-end device that was insanely priced, piquing the interest of Android fans.
Unfortunately, the company lacked the experience in actually selling the smartphones. While the company reported a million sales by the end of 2014, it was still far from what they could have accomplished.
But the good thing about this industry is that there are instances where companies are given second chances. And as for OnePlus, the manufacturer will definitely want to start right and continue on the right track.
According to a report from GSM Arena, the company will launch its new version of Oxygen OS together with OnePlus Two, the successor of the OnePlus One. In the report, this version of Oxygen OS will be based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
But even before the new ROM gets released, the manufacturer already promises that it would increase the process of releasing updates for its smartphones.
Meanwhile, CyannogenMod will still offer a final build for the OnePlus One, which is also based on the Android 5.1 update.
In the report, the OnePlus Two is expected to be unveiled at Q3, probably during the IFA season. Like its predecessor, the device may be priced at around $400.
