OnePlus X update & specs: sports a dual camera, may be released in October

Smartphone brand OnePlus is promising fans and users a new model in their lineup that will arrive before the year ends. This was confirmed in an interview by Eli Blumenthal of USA Today  with OnePlus CEO Carl Pei. "There's going to be a second phone this year, before the end of the year. Hopefully for Christmas," he said. And though he did not divulge much detail, he hinted in the interview that the upcoming smartphone will be something worth checking out as soon as it gets released. But of course, interested fans are going ahead and checking out some leaks found on the Internet.

According to Android and Me, the smartphone manufacturer is cooking up the OnePlus X or the OnePlus Mini. It is going to be a mid-range, one lower end smartphone than the OnePlus2. International Business Times reported that the first leaked photos were released by Gizmo China and it showed an image of the smartphone featuring single grille speakers one each on the top and the bottom on the front-side of the device.

It has also been detailed that it will come with dual cameras on the back along with a fingerprint sensor. A very notable feature that is missing is the home button just like in the OnePlus 2. A clean sheet of glass across the front can be found instead. It will also sport a metal-finish based frame around the edge. The image is merely a rendered one though as there are no official details yet as to how the smartphone will look like or what its specs would be . But Technology Personalized speculates that it will be run with a Snapdragon 615 and will also bring features like USB Type-C and an FHD screen.
