Before it was made official, the Oppo F5 has been leaked a few times. Promotional materials for it have emerged in the Philippines, where its metallic design, single camera and fingerprint sensor on the back have been shown.

The Oppo F5 will come with a full high-definition (HD) display and features what was described as an "AI beauty recognition technology," which can "beautify" selfies.

As described by the company to the abovementioned publication, the technology traces "the unique facial features of a subject (for example: the nose, cheek, lower jaw etc.), to make the best enhancements for each image, regardless of the facial expressions or shooting angle."

This Oppo F5 feature will also be able to decipher the differences between age and gender, which is used to make the tweaks on the photo. This information will be saved to use to edit future pictures.

Oppo markets the device as a "selfie expert" handset, which is why it is expected to come with a dual camera setup on the front. The company has been focusing on beefing up the front shooters of its products, which is why it is more likely to come with two snappers for the selfies and just one on the back.

Details on the rest of the features and specs of the Oppo F5 as well as the price should be revealed in the weeks leading to its official release.
