Oppo Neo 5s Rumors, Specs: New Entry-Level Device Appears On Maker's Official Website
Announced last year, the Oppo Neo 5 was an entry-level handset that was priced a bit steeper than expected. Still, the Chinese manufacturer scored with this Android phone due to its stylish look.
And so, nearly a year after the device was launched, it seems Oppo is ready to unveil the device's successor.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the rumored successor, dubbed as the Oppo Neo 5s, has just appeared on Oppo's official website.
The page shows some of the device's specs including a 4.5-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution, a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU, 64-bit enabled Snapdragon 410 chipset, Adreno 306 GPU for graphics processing, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory.
Other specs that will on board according to the website include an 8MP primary camera with the usual features like Panorama, scene-detection, geo-tagging, smile detection, etc., and a 2MP front shooter.
Completing the features of the Oppo Neo 5s are dual-SIM capabilities, a microSD card slot, 2,000mAh battery, and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat topped by Color OS.
Based on the report, the Android-powered device will be priced similar to its predecessor at around $190.
Oppo may be doing well to keep itself relevant in its home market, but it should do a better job in pricing its devices if it wants to outperform the likes of Huawei and Xiaomi.
