Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus Available for Pre-Order 2 Days Before Launch (VIDEO)
The Oppo R7 and the Oppo R7 Plus have already been announced as available for pre-order even before the expected unveiling this week.
Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo, is expected to launch its new flagship device, the Oppo R7 and its companion, the R7 Plus, on Wednesday. Already JD.com has announced the handsets are open for pre-order.
Jingdong Mall, one of China's largest B2C electronic online retailers has announced it is pre-selling the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus at ¥2,997 ($483) despite Oppo still having to release the official pricing for the upcoming smartphones.
Earlier this month, the two leaked television ads for the handsets aired the Oppo 7 and Oppo 7 Plus with a suggested retail price of $483, which doesn't put the JD.com price far off the mark.
The Oppo R7 features a 5-inch AMOLED display, with a 441ppi pixel density and 1080 x 1920 resolution on top of a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC, an octa-core 1.7Ghz CPU and Adreno 405 GPU under the phone's hood. It has 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, and a dual SIM capacity.
The handset carries a 20.7 MP rear camera with higher-end digital camera Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) which brings with it an "anti-shake optimization" feature and a one second focus time. Oppo's Pure Image 2.0+ image processor installed in the handset will enable users to capture high resolution 50 MP images, with the 8 MP front camera featuring a selfie-centered "Beautify" mode.
The phone runs on a 2320mAh battery with Android 5.0 pre-installed on the device, and is currently advertised in a silver variant.
The Oppo R7 Plus, on the other hand, will sport a 5.9-inch screen offering the same FHD resolution and a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC and an octa-core CPU. While it also has 3 GB of RAM, its rear camera only has an 8 MP resolution.
Both handsets are built for VOOC rapid charging, giving users two hours of battery life after a five-minute round of charging.
