Orange is the New Black's Laura Prepon Confirmed as Regular Cast Member for Next Season
"Orange is the New Black" is an American comedy-drama series that was first premiered on Netflix on July 11, 2013. Earlier in the year, the series was renewed for a third season, which will air sometime in June 2015.
There were intial uncertainties as to whether Laura Prepon, who plays as Alex Vause, would be returning as a regular cast member. Prepon's character was one of the most featured character in the first season due to her relationship with Piper Chapman.
But then during the second season, Prepon only signed to appear in one season. Thankfully, season creator Jenji Kohan worked out an agreement with the former "That 70's Show" star to sign for four more episodes in the season.
Earlier this April, however, it was confirmed that Prepon would be returning to season 3 as a regular cast member. Truth be told, Prepon herself broke out the news by posting the season 3 titles on her Instagram.
Ever since the Instagram post was put out on the Internet, Netflix has backed up this claim and confirms her return to the series as a regular.
The renewal of the series is surprising as it was done around a month before the season 2 streaming on Netflix. The pre-renewal follows that of another series, "The House of Cards," which took place sometime before its February launch of its second season.
The renewal however, was expected since "Orange is the New Black" is reported to be Netflix's most watched show, even more than the more critically loved "House of Cards."
