Orange is the New Black Season 3 Release Date, Cast News: Summer 2015 Premiere To Take Place Without Jason Biggs

The cast of "Orange is the New Black" will be a Larry Bloom-less cast when the show returns for its Season 3 run this summer.

Jason Biggs, who plays Piper's former fiancé, egotistic journalist Larry Bloom on "Orange is the New Black" won't be around for Season 3 when the Emmy-nominated prison series hits Netflix in June.

"They're not focusing on Larry at the moment," the "American Pie" alum told The New York Daily News. "Larry will not be in season three. But there's always a possibility he can come back."

"OITNB" viewers will remember Biggs' character, Larry, as one of the main members of the cast since the show premiered on Netflix in July 2013. Previously engaged to Piper, he was seen hooking up with Alex, kindling a romance with Polly, and writing his pièce de résistance that gets published in The New York Times and gets him noticed in the journalistic field.

Fans may be looking a season without Bloom, which gives Piper more room to explore her budding relationship with Alex.

Biggs isn't the only character who'll be missing from Season 3. Corrections officer Pablo "Pornstache" Schreiber will be absent from the third season, but viewers will be introduced to his mother, who'll be played by Academy Award winning actress, Mary Steenburgen.

Rumors are also circulating that Diane Guerrero's Maritza Ramos will be missing from Season 3, as well. However, the show's upcoming season will be a vehicle towards providing more screen time for "Tank Girl," Lori Petty, who played Lolly in the second season's "Thirsty Bird" episode. Revelations on what her character will be up to when the show opens is still a secret Netflix is keeping close to its chest until the new season premieres.
