Red Power Ranger Austin St. John Returns With Doomsday Film 'Survival's End'
Austin St. John, the original actor behind the Red Power Ranger suit, is returning to Hollywood after two decades away to star in a sci-fi thriller, "Survival's End."
Original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" leader, Austin St. John, who played the original Red Power Ranger, Jason Lee Scott, has returned to the Hollywood scene after a 22-year absence to promote his new project, "Survival's End."
St. John, who is a trained EMT and firefighter in real life, will be starring in a sci-fi thriller about a doomsday virus based on the spreading Ebola threat in Central Africa, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.

The film's plot hinges on an Ebola-like epidemic invading the United States, presenting a grim vision of an uncontrollable self-replicating virus. In the movie, world leaders, after assessing the situation and seeing the infectivity of containment, decide to eradicate the infected areas of the population instead. World governments join together to perform the purge through global genocide.
St. John plays a former military specialist leading a group of uninfected people constantly on the move to evade government cleansing squads. Their goal is to survive long enough until a vaccine to combat the virus is contained.
"Survival's End" will be helmed by Daniel E. Springen, who will also be writing and producing the film.
The film aims to raise $275,000 for production costs, with 70 percent shouldered by the Valencia Film Program that will be providing cameras, sound, post-production, and trained filmmakers. The film premise is currently on campaign at fund crowding site, indiegogo.com.
