Oukitel U7 Pro Used as Chopping Board, Features 5.5-Inch Display & 13 MP Camera
Smartphones that are tough on the outside are very popular nowadays. There are some that are shatterproof, waterproof and now scratch proof. According to CNet, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oukitel is going to bring a device that can double as a chopping board. The said device is called the U7 Pro.
The site said that Oukitel released on Tuesday a video showing off how resilient the U7 Pro's screen is. The demonstrator first tried scratching the screen of the device with a cutter which did not scratch or break the screen at all. It then moved forward to its feature highlight which involved slicing and dicing vegetables on top of the screen with the use of a knife. And even then it still emerged scratch-free and not damaged at all.
When not used as a chopping board, Ubergizmo detailed that the Oukitel U7 Pro is a mid-range smartphone with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280x720. It also comes with 2.5D curved glass. Under its hood is a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor coupled with just 1 GB of RAM. This phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera. Apparently, the specs of the device are not that impressive especially with the tough competition in the gadget world.
But it's certainly a great option for those who are looking for heavy-duty smartphones. Those who are into adventures might be interested with it since they can use it as an emergency chopping board while spending time outdoors.
The smartphone also boasts a built-in projector just like that of the Samsung Galaxy Beam series. MobiPicker noted that with the use of the projector, users can conveniently beam photos, videos or documents on walls or ceilings at 50 lumens.
All of these features will only cost a buyer $70 (AU$100 or £45), although there are no details yet on when the Oukitel U7 Pro will be made available in in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
