'Outlander' News, Spoilers: Jamie and Claire Get Back Together; EP Teases Next Episode Will Reset Momentum
Claire and Jamie have finally gotten back together in the most recent episode of "Outlander." Executive producer Ronald D. Moore previously revealed that the much-awaited print shop reunion between the husband and wife would be pretty much like "a love letter to fans," and it turned out to be not any less than that.
The episode opened with Claire traveling back to 1766, arriving in Edinburgh to try to find the print shop of Alexander Malcolm. Towards the end, she finally found what she was looking for, and a whirlwind of emotions overcame her. The moment she finally saw Jamie face-to-face, her husband fainted before he could even say a word.
Before their long-awaited reunion finally turned into reality, Claire had to deal with an emotional rollercoaster, as she encountered Frank's mistress and left her daughter Brianna. In a recent interview with Brianna portrayer Sophie Skelton, the actress said she appreciates that the series is able to explore the similarities between Brianna and her father Jamie despite the fact that they haven't even met yet.

"There was kind of that parallel of, Jamie gave up Claire for Brianna and Bree's now doing the same. It's nice to see that kind of selflessness. And I think, because it follows that really nice scene of Claire and Brianna on the sofa in the Boston home, there's a beautiful role-reversal, where Claire's kind of a little bit anxious, a little bit worried that actually this 20-year wait for a relationship puts so much pressure to rekindle that. And Bree kind of becomes the mother to Claire, and says, 'you know what, you'll be okay and I have to let you go,'" said Skelton.
Moore also revealed that in the next episode, the series would take viewers back in time again to change up the perspective of the door opening and to show everything from Jamie's point of view. He also revealed that the episode would not pick up in real time, resetting the momentum established by the final moments of the previous episode.
The next episode of "Outlander" season 4 will air on Sunday, Oct. 22, 8 p.m. ETD on Starz.
