'Outlander' Season 2 has parenting issues for Claire and Jamie

"Outlander" goes off to new lands in its second season as Jamie and Claire prepare for their new roles as parents amidst the pomp and grandeur of the French court. Yes, the action in "Outlander" is shifting from muddy, gritty Scotland to the silks and politics of the French court with the couple encountering a lot of new characters along the way.

Cast members Caitriona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie) are excited about the new worlds that their characters will be entering. "We felt a little bit of discomfort in the transition, because we were so used to playing in this gritty Scottish mud," Caitriona Balfe said in a recent Blastr interview. "Everything was very muted, with the wools. Now all of a sudden we're in these luxurious apartments and grand houses." She further said that everyone will be in "bright colours and silks and satins," adding, "It's going to be very exciting."

Claire's pregnancy serves as a big twist in the show's storyline. In the series, Claire thought she would never get pregnant. Her pregnancy paves the way for the show to feature a lot of flashbacks from Claire's past. Claire became an orphan when she was only five years old and missed having a mother as she matured to the woman that she is now.
