In Outlander Season 3, Claire goes back to her life in 1948 and struggles with her coming back to her first husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) while being pregnant. Jamie suffers from the loss of Claire in the 18th century and is coping up from the battle of Culloden. They both are haunted by each other's absence and try to build their own lives separately.

Jamie goes into hiding in a small cave of Lallybroch for seven years after the battle of Culloden. He got himself captured right after he knew that his sister's family is starving. He then met Lord John Grey (David Berry) in prison and became friends.
Lord John Grey is a fine gentleman with a scandal from his past that sent him as governor to a desolate prison in Northern Scotland. Grey has been rumored to be gay and will set his eyes on Jaime. Outlander Season 3 is set to have Grey to be an important character not only to Jaime but to Claire as well.
John Grey helps Jamie get a parole and was further sent to Helwater. The estate is owned by Lord William Dunsay. Jamie continues to serve his parole at Dunsay's estate and eventually meets Dunsay's daughter, Geneva. A 17-year-old girl who got infatuated with Jaime and the two become intimate to each other. This then leads to Geneva getting pregnant and gives birth to their son William Ransom.
Claire And Jaime Reunite
"Outlander" Season 3 is based on a book title "Voyager" by Diana Gabaldon. This is Gabaldon's third book from her 'Outlander' series novels. It is likely that the series TV series will cast the Dunsay family and the young William Ransom.
Meanwhile, "Outlander" Season 3 is likely to show the reunion of Jaime and Claire. They may meet at a print shop and will see each other again after twenty more years. At this time, there are a lot of changes that happened to each of their lives. It seems that Claire may be disappointed on Jaime's changes in his life.
Showrunner Ronald D. Moore shared in a report that "Outlander" Season 3 is going to be a very exciting season. He added that this is going to be a brand new season with a difference from the previous ones.
There is no official air date of the series as of yet. There are speculations that "Outlander" Season 3 will be back on April 1, 2017.
