'Outlander' Season 3: Diana Gabaldon Visits Cast and Crew in South Africa
The cast and crew of "Outlander" are currently filming season 3 in South Africa and they are about to be joined by none other than Diana Gabaldon.
The author is, of course, the brilliant mind behind the bestselling "Outlander" novels that inspired the series. Gabaldon took to Twitter to reveal that she was off to the filming location.
A new update reveals that she has now landed in South Africa, where she will likely keep an eye on the work being done for "Outlander" season 3 and to make sure that her book "Voyager," on which the new season is based, will be adapted faithfully by Starz.
Meanwhile, "Outlander" season 3 Cesar Domboy treated fans with a sneak peek of one of the ships set to be featured in the new season.
Of course, ships will be integral part of the new season of the series as it will chronicle the journey of star-crossed lovers Jamie (Same Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to Jamaica.
As Carter Matt pointed out, "Outlander" season 3 is filming in South Africa primarily for the ships. The cast and crew were in Scotland prior to this.
As revealed in the past, "Outlander" season 3 will see Jamie and Claire in separate places and time. The former will pick himself up after the Battle of Culloden while the latter lives her life as the wife of Jacob (Tobias Menzies).
The lovers will eventually find their way back to each other in an iconic scene in the book that fans hope to see will be adapted to the letter in "Outlander" season 3.
The new season will also introduce new characters and versions of those who appeared in the previous seasons, including an older version of Fergus to be played by Domboy.
The new faces out of the "Voyager" book will include the Dunsany sisters, Mary McNab and Mr. Willoughby. Unfortunately, fans won't see them in "Outlander" season 3 until the show's premiere in September.
