'Outlander' Season 3: Finale Script Done; Set Photo of Jamie and Claire's Journey at Sea Released
Production for "Outlander" season 3 will soon be complete. Scenes of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) at sea are currently being filmed.
The third season of the hit Starz series is based on "Voyager," the third book in the "Outlander" series by bestselling author Diana Gabaldon. The scenes involving the ships and maritime voyage will be filmed last.
"Outlander" season 3 will feature a lot of seafaring adventures including those of the star-crossed lovers. A behind-the-scenes photo of Heughan and Balfe having fun in between takes of one of these scenes was recently released online.
Balfe can be seen beaming as Heughan messes around when the camera stopped rolling, displaying a serious but also a goofy look as he gazes into the vast sea and skies.
These sea-bound scenes for "Outlander" season 3 are expected to be completed by next month with the script for the season already locked and loaded.
Executive producer Matthew Roberts recently took to Twitter to reveal that he has finally finished writing the script for the upcoming season.
"Just wrote – FADE OUT," he said, adding that his next task is to search for typographical errors, which he admits "may take awhile."
Gabaldon was kind enough to explain what Roberts meant with fade out. "He means he's finished the last script for Season Three. 'Fade Out' is one way of ending a scene," the novelist tweeted.
Roberts has also been sharing behind-the-scenes photos showing the ships that will accompany Jamie, Claire and other characters in their voyage in the new season.
"Outlander" season 3 will follow Jamie and Claire, who have been separated 20 years in time. Believing they will not find their way back to each other's arms, they went on to live their lives.
Claire goes on as the wife of Jacob (Tobias Menzies) while Jamie is stuck in the past, taking part in the Battle of Culloden as shown in the image above the article.
"Outlander" season 3 will premiere this September on Starz.
