'Outlander's' Tobias Menzies Joins 'Underworld 5'
"Outlander" and "Game of Thrones" star, Tobias Menzies is due to appear as a werewolf in his next film project, "Underworld 5."
Tobias Menzies has been cast in the upcoming "Underworld 5" where he will play a Lycan leader when the next installment of the vampire-werewolf franchise returns to the big screen.
The English actor will be taking on the role of Lycan leader, Marius, in the supernatural horror action franchise pitting vampires against werewolves in a centuries' old war.
"Underworld 5" is set to be directed by cinematographer Anna Foerster in her first movie directorial debut. Foerster also directed the Season 1 finale of "Outlander," where Menzies essays the dual roles of antagonist Frank Randall and Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall.
Menzies, 41, who also played the role of a bumbling Edmure Tully in HBO's "Game of Thrones," is likewise known as "M's" assistant, Villiers in the 2006 James Bond film, "Casino Royale," and as Lewis in the 2014 adventure thriller, "Black Sea."
Menzies began his career in British improve comedy, segueing to British television and theater. He has had roles in several big budget movies, including "Finding Neverland," "Atonement," and "Hysteria."
"Underworld 5" will see Menzies in the role of the mysterious Marius, who goes head-to-head against Selene (Kate Beckinsale) and her vampire followers.
The plotline for "Underworld 5" has yet to be revealed, but speculations have emerged the next installment in the vampire-Lycan saga will focus on the younger generation of blood suckers and werewolves in their continuing clan war.
The missing Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman), who was the object of Selene's quest in the last movie, may also make an appearance.
While "Underworld 5" was originally intended to be a reboot, the movie was eventually geared to be a continuation of the previous film, and will focus on Theo James' character David, who first appeared in 2012's "Underworld: Awakening."
