PC Gamer reports that some "Overwatch" heroes have been foreshadowed before by putting them on various maps and scenes in the game. However, this time the company has taken to leaking the info on their own.

In the photo, the gun is described as "prototype biotic rifle" and is something that "Overwatch" fans have not seen before in the game, Mashable noted. Furthermore, the blueprint also provided other "clues" such as The Biotic Field and how the rifle could be made with Caduceus technology, the same tech used to make Mercy's Staff and Soldier 76's Biotic Field healing station.

It also showed a message exchange between Mercy or Andrea Ziegler and Tobjorn, the gun designer. There was also a revelation of those who have received the message namely "Overwatch" characters Jack Morrison or Soldier 76 and Gabriel Reyes or Reaper.

Reaper's inclusion is quickly linked to Sombra as he has a line in the game that says "Where is Sombra when you need her?" Sombra's name has also been spotted in the Dorado map in "Overwatch" which makes it very likely that she will be making an appearance in the game soon.

Popular Reddit Sombra Evidence, Fan Theories

Observant "Overwatch" fans have gathered in Reddit to create a thread solely dedicated to Sombra, her identity and if she really is a support sniper. The Redditors wrote that there is an existing picture that cements the association of Soldier 76, Reaper and Sombra together. However, since Reaper's the one who is talking to her, it is a possibility that she is a villain.

From the name, Sombra is Spanish and it literally means "shadow." This also alludes to the ability to be stealthy which supports the sniper theory that the Redditors and many fans have come up with. Furthermore, in Mexican mythological lore that references Santa Murte, Sombra is directly linked to Grim Reapers. This means that Sombra's affiliation with Reaper in "Overwatch" could not be an accident but a foreshadowing rather.

"Overwatch" fans have been gathering clues and evidence for this hidden character because Jeff Kaplan himself said that there are many hints and Easter eggs all over the game.
