Pacquiao vs Mayweather Rematch Rumors: De La Hoya Predicts Rematch Isn't Too Far Off
In what could be the second part of the biggest bout in boxing history, former professional boxer Oscar De La Hoya says the Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch that many fans are anticipating might happen very soon.
Floyd Mayweather defeated De La Hoya in a split decision victory, and almost the entire world knows that the latter isn't a "Money" fan. After his victory, Mayweather announced his retirement but suddenly came back to the ring just a few months after his declaration.
In an interview with Bloomberg, De La Hoya said he "strongly believes" that Mayweather is just repeating himself and will come out of retirement after he has taken enough time to rest. "I think he will wait until next year, maybe do the rematch with [Manny Pacquiao] and then we'll see what happens."

The 1992 Olympic gold medalist also wrote an open letter addressed to the undefeated champion, saying he doesn't believe that the cocky boxer is done with boxing for good.
Just a few weeks back, Pacquiao himself posted a video on Facebook saying he is currently in talks for his next fight and he apparently mentioned that he is actually looking forward to "The Fight of the Century 2."
While Mayweather has not said a word about a rematch against the "Pacman," he announced earlier that his last fight in the ring would be his victory over Andre Berto, which apparently happened last Sept. 12.
In the Bloomberg interview, De La Hoya further slammed Mayweather, stating that the American undisputed boxer is all for "business," unlike what other boxers live for which is passion and making the entire boxing world fandom happy with the action-packed fights.
De La Hoya is currently promoting the Saul "Canelo" Alvarez versus Miguel Cotto fight, which is set to take place at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov. 21, and being someone who has been in the ring with both Pacquiao and Mayweather, it is only reasonable that he is among the people who had something to say about the fight.
While De La Hoya believes that a rematch is highly possible, Ecumenical News reports that "Money" has slammed all rumors, saying Pacquiao's "hints" for a rematch is everything but talk and won't happen anytime in the near future.
