Paleo Diet for Lenten Season—Recipe Ideas to Try

Lent is coming up and Christians who are following the season of preparation before Easter will be observing a period of repentance, moderation, self-denial and fasting. Some will commit to give up something during the duration of Lent beginning on Ash Wednesday up to Easter Sunday. There are also some who will not eat meat on Fridays and replace it with fish instead. And because of that, following a Paleo diet for the week is most fitting.

According to Health Aim, the Paleo diet can be the best option for the Lenten season. It's also a great nutritional regimen beyond the season as it promotes healthy living by giving up grains, dairy, meat and processed foods. Paleo also enthuses a person to chiefly eat vegetable and fruits. For those who wants to leave the junk food life and begin healthy living, the Lenten season can be the starting point.

It's not going to be difficult as there are several Paleo recipe ideas available that one can make or cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As suggested in the site How We Flourish, some delicious recipe ideas for breakfast include Spinach and Kale Quiche, Spinach and Feta Frittata, Coconut Blueberry Oatmeal and Simple Sweet Pepper Frittata.

For those who are into snacking, PaleoLeap suggested munching on handful of nuts, paleo granola, fruit salad, pork rinds, roasted chestnuts, deviled eggs, spicy pumpkin seeds, seasoned seaweed, Paleo smoothie, olives, omelet muffin, hard boiled eggs, kale/plantain/zucchini/sweet potato chips and others.

Ultimate Paleo Guide also enumerated some great meal recipes that will surely fill up the tummy without compromising heathy eating. One recipe suggested is the Paleo Egg Salad which is a classic lunchtime favorite. But since the mayonnaise is high in fat, the recipe found in Living Super Human replaces it with avocado and Dijon mustard with a pinch of garlic, salt and pepper. Other recipes include fish meat such as Smoked Salmon with Fresh Vegetables, Fried Fish Tacos, Fennel and Lemon Roasted Trout and Garlic Roasted Cod.
